Advancing Anaesthesia Research in Burundi

ABPCAAR actively supports and promotes research on anaesthesia practices in Burundi, focusing on patient safety, workforce capacity, equipment availability, and clinical outcomes. By generating locally relevant evidence, we help identify context-specific challenges and opportunities within anaesthesia services. This research informs training, guides quality improvement initiatives, and contributes to the development of safer, more effective anaesthesia care adapted to the Burundian healthcare setting.

Research on Trauma Care Competencies

ABPCAAR has actively contributed to research on trauma care competencies, assessing the knowledge, skills, and preparedness of healthcare providers involved in emergency and critical care. These studies help identify gaps in training and practice, guiding targeted capacity-building initiatives and improving trauma care delivery.

Promoting Evidence-Based Practice

Research is a core pillar of our association’s mission to advance anaesthesia and critical care. We promote evidence-based practice by encouraging the use of scientific data, clinical guidelines, and locally generated evidence to inform decision-making and improve patient outcomes across healthcare settings in Burundi.

Research to Inform Policy and Practice

The findings from our surveys and published research are used to inform clinical practice, education, and policy advocacy. By translating research into action, our association supports continuous quality improvement, strengthens professional standards, and contributes to safer, more effective anaesthesia and critical care services nationwide
